The beginnings


Byzance was created in 1995 by Philippe Poulachon. Originally, three products make up the universe: caviar, smoked salmon and Iberian Pata Negra ham.

The story begins with a professional clientele, fine grocers, restaurants, hoteliers... Only they have access to these exceptional products.

It was in 1999 that the general public discovered our universe with the opening of the very first Bellota-Bellota ® counter at 11 rue Clément Marot, near the Champs-Elysées.

Bellota-Bellota ® quickly grew and other counters emerged in France (Paris, Lyon) and abroad (first opening in Hong Kong in 2011).

The development of the brand took on new impetus when it was established in April 2017 at Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport. Beginning of a turning point for the group which accentuates its growth in Travel Retail (airports, stations, etc.).
